Carbon Bridge Experience

Biogas projects reduce methane emissions from wastewater
Carbon Bridge has experience in all the main carbon regimes, including the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) of the Kyoto Protocol, the Voluntary Carbon Standards (VCS) and Gold Standard certification.
Current Carbon Bridge projects and activities include:
- The first large scale biogas project in Cambodia, which Carbon Bridge developed to the Gold Standard, the first in Cambodia. Carbon Bridge identified the potential project, convinced the owners of the feasibility and benefits of the project, prepared the CDM documentation and will arrange the sale of the CERs. The project will reduce emissions by over 60,000 tCO2e/year and will reduce wastewater pollution for the rural communities living nearby the site.
- Biogas and renewable electricity projects at Palm Oil mills in Thailand, developed to the Gold Standard, that will reduce greenhouse emissions by 1.4m tCO2e up to 2012, following the Gold Standard.
- Solar power project with over 1,700 systems installed in remote villages in Lao PDR following the Voluntary Carbon Standard procedures.
- The first CDM windfarm in Vietnam working with EDF Trading in the UK. The project will be 30MW and reduce emissions by over 90 tCO2e. The project has been submitted to the UNFCCC CDM Executive Board for approval.
- Carbon documentation for micro biomass energy projects in remote and rural areas of South East Asia for a client selling emission reductions on the voluntary carbon market.
- Conducting a market survey of carbon buyer interest for the Vietnamese household biogas project for SNV.
